Lucifer doesn't try to figure out where he is or where he's going; he keeps his own mind carefully blank and just walks. Doing otherwise would make him seem threatening, whether or not he truly was being. Pesky side effect of being the Devil, you know.

Eventually he finds his way to the library, and begins idly looking through the titles.

The library appears normal, for now. The books are various magical subjects, ranging from transfiguration to potions to charms. However, there are a few Muggle titles in between the shelves, hidden away: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, A Tale of Two Cities... stories Tom enjoyed from his childhood, in the orphanage.

If Lucifer continues, he will find Tom, aged thirteen, reading peacefully.

He finds him, and gives him a polite, even respectful nod. "I don't have to introduce myself to you, do I?" You already know who I am.

"What are you reading?"

"No, but I do wonder why you're here," Tom responds mildly, closing his book. The title reads Advanced Transfiguration.

"Because you're dreaming," he answers simply enough. "You're very alert, even for a wizard."

Tom's gaze is a little more insolent than it is when he is older -- at thirteen, he is a little less refined, a little less perfect, than his sixteen year old counterpart. He has not yet killed.

"I don't like people poking around where they aren't welcome," Tom says abruptly, standing up, the book sliding underneath his arm, eyes narrowing. "Which is what you're doing."

"I suppose I am." He says it as if it hadn't occurred to him that he was doing anything of the sort, but really he just hadn't thought he'd find anything worth digging for.

But then he saw Voldemort.

"Of course, I won't poke around for anything you wouldn't willing give." A slow look. "Or trade for."

"I don't trade my thoughts."

Tom brushes past him to place the book back on the shelf -- he knows precisely where it goes, exactly how many steps to walk, and precisely how many books to the left it is.

He knows his mind extraordinarily well.

"Not even for knowledge?" That's a mild school teacher tone he's giving, because he knows Tom is extraordinarily intelligent. Too intelligent, really, for a school teacher to handle.

"Knowledge about what?" the boy asks, turning on his heel smoothly to eye Lucifer.
