Summary: The incident with Izuna has given Madara a lot to think about. He takes a walk to clear his mind.
The news that Izuna's attempt at regaining his sight had failed hit Madara hard. He knew that it was a long shot for this to have worked. But the hope that Izuna gained from the idea of seeing again and the guilt that had manifested and evolved in his mind over the last eighty years had caused him to support his brother's decision. But now, seeing that it failed, brought any hope crashing down on the both of them.
Madara had spent the night before at his brother's side, being his silent support through this troubling time. Izuna had tried his hardest to hide his disappointment and sorrow from his older brother, but Madara knew Izuna better than anyone. He could read his brother like a book, and his brother could do the same with him. After spending the previous night with his brother, Madara decided that tonight he would need time to himself. He needed to think about what the next steps would be and what he could do (other than beating Snape into a bloody pulp).
So there he was, walking the silent streets of the Safezone. He didn't have a set destination, only going where the night would decide to take him.
