Just a series of blurs

Feb 08, 2010 13:42

Characters: morteanimositas, citta-samtana & mytechendsworld (posting order get!)
When: An hour or so after Topher posts with his PCD for the first time.
Where: Some...where. Not close to lab, I'd imagine.
Rating: PG13? Lots of baww, angst and crazy. Also immature people in love.
Summary: Topher posts to the network, annoys Bennett and amuses Claire. But since they don't know that Bennett is dead and some megalomaniacal Rossum exec using Claire's brain killed her, and Topher does, he has a bit of a breakdown when he realizes who he's talking to. Which neither Bennett or Claire understand so it's the pair of agoraphobics to the rescue?

Hey they are, at least, a little more sane and stable than Topher at the moment.

_______________

Bennett was certain Topher hated her. More than that? She was certain that whatever happened that made him freak out at both her and Claire was her fault. He'd asked for her name. He'd asked and she'd ignored the request in favor of being annoyed that he was so frustrated. Claire had realized immediately who she was speaking to, which made sense in a way that annoyed Bennett. She wasn't even sure Claire liked Topher, based on their conversation, but she'd been worried about him too and helped her trick his PCD into accepting her tracking program.

It went faster than it would have alone, but still it took much to long. Nearly an hour, and Bennett didn't turn back on her PCD to see if he'd responded. It seemed doubtful, anyway. But once that hour was over, once the program was happily chirping the PCD's coordinates at her, Bennett found a coat and pulled it over her shoulders. "The sooner we get out there, the better. It might snow."

Which was a wonderful thought, really. Topher dying in the snow because she'd been a bitch. Today was going wonderfully already. The really selfish part of her wanted to go hide and drink tea in a dark room to chase her headache away but it was Topher. She shouldn't abandon him. Not like that.
