Spike strolled up to where Alice told him to meet her, a little dismayed by the rain. There were bad memories connected to rain for one thing, and for another, it was hard to keep a cigarette lit when there was always water falling on it. Sure he wasn't a big fan of rain, but there was nothing he could do about it now. Maybe it would stop some time soon.

When he saw Alice sitting on that rock, he wondered just what type of opponent she'd be. The fact that she'd challenged him led him to believe that she'd be no easy win. He was slightly curious about the glove he saw her remove and replace.

"Yo," he said to her, his hands shoved in his pockets.

Rain didn't bother Alice. While it could be inconvenient when one was trying to line up a shot through a sniper scope and heavy rain could mask the sound of someone approaching, she didn't mind. Even though she was far more violent and even cruel about things than Ginia was, Alice was still a professional and considered working in rain and poor weather in general to be a part of being a bounty hunter ( ... )

Wow. Spike had not been expecting that. His guard was down, and in addition to being physically kicked, he mentally kicked himself for not being able to see that coming. After landing hard on his ass, he scrambled into a pouncing position, his fingers tensing in anticipation, and he eyed her, waiting for her next move. "Thanks for the warning," he said, adrenaline now coursing through his veins. He wore a devious smile; her surprise attack flipped a switch in him.

After the leg-sweep, Alice bounded back onto her feet and into a defensive position. Had Spike been a real target, she would have taken the chance to shoot or stab him, but as this was a friendly spar and she liked playing, she gave him a chance to recover and get back on his feet. A smile faintly graced her face, though she refused to let any cockiness get in the way; that was also a quick way to end up on the ground.

Alice began to stalk toward him with all the strength and grace of a tigress stalking her prey before she snapped another kick at him, this time aimed at his side.

Swiftly, he darted back, dodging her kick. He fired back, aiming a punch at her stomach. He usually didn't fight women, except the ones who he knew were beyond capable. Alice was definitely one of those women.

Now things were getting interesting. Alice side-stepped his punch and grabbed his upper arm and wrist, using his momentum to throw him forward while her fingers squeezed in. In her head, she mused on the different ways she could have disabled or even killed him. A simple snap of the arm here, an elbow to the throat there, the entertained each thought and discarded them just as quickly.

She had no intention of killing Spike. Doing so would have been pointless and it seemed Gojyo wanted that honor anyway.

Spike was learning quickly what to do and what not to do. He was usually a defensive fighter, but he hadn't been able to resist throwing that punch. On his toes, he danced around her, his fingers relaxed, his movements quick and fluid.

He didn't yet have an inkling of her capabilities, but then again, had he known, he still wouldn't have been able to turn down this challenge.

Alice moved right along with him, dropping out of a defensive position and onto the offensive with a vicious salvo of punches and kicks. A smile began to creep over her face, absent of all the warm and kindness of Ginia but something a little colder and almost sadistic. The thrill of fighting excited her and her actions began to grow more aggressive. However, even in her fast pace, she kept her left side carefully guarded and an observant fighter would notice punches from the left were a little slower and less frequent than her right.

Watching closely, Spike managed to dodge or block most of her punches and kicks. He couldn't help but notice that sadistic smile on her face, and he answered back with his own. He also noticed that her left side was weak, and he reasoned that her left side was a good place to stay. Darting to her left, Spike delivered a hard kick to her torso. Kicking wasn't a big part of Jeet Kun Do, but he was a fan of breaking the rules.

Alice caught the kick coming at her and raised a leg to block it while she moved her arms over to catch his leg. She gave a falsely sweet smile and raked her fingers up his leg and to this thigh before giving a swift squeeze.

Spike had anticipated her block, but hadn't expected Alice to grip is leg like that. Staggeringly, he pulled his leg back, surprised at how much her fingers had hurt him.

The throbbing in his thigh didn't stop his movement, and he fired a jab at her left side, hoping it would land.
