"Are you all--" Maes stopped himself mid-sentence. It was not one person. It was two. And they were certainly not needing help. Sometimes he forgot that this place didn't just hurt people, that some made connections. Quietly he started walking backwards, though it was very likely they'd noticed him. He'd started by being loud, after all.

"Ah. Pard-" he started to say when he felt Lelouch struggle beneath him. He breathed an apology to Lelouch and quickly scrambled off of him. He stood and then bowed his head towards Maes.
"Please pardon us. We're quite fine....didn't expect anyone else here," he said, a little embarassed but not to the extend Lelouch would have been. They were a couple and Suzaku saw that their behavior was normal. Maes didn't seem like a harmful guy anyways.
"Why are you gathering flowers?" he asked, his curiosity inadvertantly opening a new conversation rather than closing the current one.

But then he was asked about flowers, and that opened up the floodgates. "My daughter Elysia is here, and she loves flowers. We're going to make flower crowns for her, and necklaces, and just play in them! She's absolutely adorable when she's happy, and even precious when she's a little grumpy! Here!" Completely losing sight of the fact that the couple had been enjoying time alone, Maes dropped to the ground near them and pulled out his wallet. It now only held photos. There was no currency here, after all.

"Yes, she is very cute. She would look adorable with a flower crown on her head."

"Of course she's cute! She's my daughter! And she's here in the city too, have you met her yet? You should meet her sometime. She's my pride and joy." He didn't notice that he was being a little repetitive. He was too happy to introduce people who who she was. "She cooks too, learning from her mommy and me! I'll have to have her meet everyone when she's wearing her little crown!"
Wait, had Lelouch said they were fun? "You know, you guys could join us with making them!"

"We'd love to meet your daughter some time. Your love for her is great to see and I'm excited to meet her. We both are," he said to Maes. The man seemed so different from his own father...strict and distant. Elysia was certainly very lucky to have such a doting father.

He'd pestered them enough, and he felt confident that he would soon have visitors. "Oh! I almost forgot! Lelouch I know, but I don't think I've met you! I'm Maes!" Introductions were a silly thing to forget, but sometimes he was just distracted by Elysia's cuteness.

"Er, yes. We'd love to come to make flower crowns and we look forward even more to meeting your daughter. It should be fun for everyone."

He nodded. "The day after tomorrow, then! We'll look forward to it." And with another warm smile Maes was off, done pestering them for today. It was a fantastic spring day; they should be free to enjoy it.

"I just think that my prince needs a crown..." he purred. "You did look very fetching with one on if I recall correctly..."
