Takada's appearance.

Summary: Takada has a piece of Death Note with her. Mello needs to read the name she'd written on it.
Perhaps Mello's future self had accepted the idea of death. Perhaps he'd been careless because his mind had been too ruined, failure after failure, to react properly. It didn't matter-- Mello wasn't his future self, and he certainly wasn't ready for this. The last thing he remembered from his original universe was that he had the damn, fucking world in his hands, everything withing his reach. Everything his.
It was a blessing that human beings had no means to know the future. Knowing what was going to happen while being completely helpless about it was maddening. And as much as Mello had struggled to find a different outcome for the situation posed at him, Takada's presence had raised the chance of his death up to 99.9%. The remaining 0.1% was the name written on the Death Note piece, which he was willing to obtain.
Truth be told, it was easy to figure out what name it was-- seeing it with his own eyes was unnecessary. But perhaps Mello was still clinging onto that 0.1%, hoping and wishing that the name wouldn't be his, even if a voice inside his mind told him that hope was useless.
Wearing the same mask he'd used during Amane Misa's captivity, Mello followed the coordinates he'd quickly hacked from Takada's PCD. The ones Halle gave him after her conversation with Takada matched up, which made Mello assume that the Takada bitch really trusted her.
