A few things in no order of importance:

Hockey

Quote of the Day:

""I don't think I have concussion problems. I have a history of guys giving me traumatic blows to the head, that's what I have a problem with."

Ottawa Senator, Dean McAmmond on his recent string of being hit in the head. Taken from the TSN article McAmmond speaks out

Now, as we all know, I'm not a fan of the Sens, but wow, poor McAmmond. He was knocked unconscious last night by the Flyers' newest problem child, Steve Downie (honestly, this kid has been suspended a BUNCH o'times in the OHL and he's not starting off on a positive note in the NHL. They need to discipline him fast and discipline him harshly so he gets the message), and, back in the Stanley Cup Final, he was knocked out by Chris Pronger, who was handed his second supsension of the playoffs for the hit on McAmmond. Funny enough, its not that McAmmond's a dirty player either, I guess he's just competent enough to warrant attention? Dunno...

Mah birfday

The actual birthday weekend starts tomorrow as I take the day off from work to go apple picking at a local organic apple orchard with Jet's daycare. I'm really looking forward to it, I just hope the rain stays away.

After that, I leave Jet with my brother, as my bro managed to score two tickets for Graig and I to attend the taping of the season premeire of the Rick Mercer Report! I'm so excited! For my American readers, Rick Mercer is probably Canada's pre-eminent television political satirist. By this point, he's managed to interview just about every top Canadian politician of the last 10 years (and he went skinny dipping with Bill Clinton too!) and his first interview with former PM Jean Chretien (they went to fast food burger joint Harvey's for a burger) is still one of the funniest things ever. I think seeing Rick do his thing live will be a treat and my brother rules for getting me these tickets!

Saturday, my actual birthday, Jet has a birthday party to attend for one of his classmates, so we're journeying to my grandparents' place Saturday morning to pick up the car. Having a car means we will also be using it to move more things from Graig's former abode to our house over the weekend.

Sunday will bring more moving and some gaming with my friends.

The end :)

birthdays, hockey, rick mercer, apple picking, busy
