School's been eating my life!

Wow, so it's been a while! Well, let's see... what has been going pn in the last week (two weeks?)?

Well, I've been reading and trying to forget about reading. lol. A lot of variation, I know.

I had gotten sickeningly far behind on my list of books I'm suppose to read, and I've been making a rather strong effort to catch up. So, to be honest, I've been forced to pick and choose which books are going to be more important to my grade but even then I've still had a lot of books to plow my way through.

My first 'oh my God!' moment was when I realized how much reading I had to get through for last Friday's test in my 4000 level history class (America in WWII). I had over 400 pages of reading to do for the class (it was all very fine print too) and I knew there was no way I could pull it off with my sanity still intact. I chose to read the more personal (harder to fake) book The Greatest Generation and I tried to read the section from A World at Arms that was on the list (key word tried). I finished The Greatest Generation and I read about 50 pages of A World at Arms (about a fifth of what was asked). Well, I went into the test thinking "Oh, well, what comes, comes." lol. I tend to have a fatalist view of the world on test day. We got the test back yesterday, by the way, and I got a 89%. Take that you evil book list! Ha!

My next 'Oh God" moment was on the same weekend as my massive WWII study session was when I realized I also needed to read The Number 1 Ladies' Detective Agency for my Honor's Class. I found the book remarkably simple and I wasn't too impressed but I got it finished without taking too much of my day.

This last week I tried to read my history books for my Modern World History class (though considering that its from the fall of Rome till the French Revolution I fail to see where the Modern comes in). We had the test yesterday and I tried to read the material during my free days (Tuesday and Thursday). I did read a bit of it too until I decided that it was all rather pointless. You see I had the previous course with the same teacher and for one he got ahead of schedule. Most of the stuff on the reading list I had already seen before. So, deciding that it was in my best interest not to read the material (for my fragile sanity), I chose to just read my notes instead. Now all I have to do is hope that my teacher doesn't take too many points off for not knowing dates.

As for my very poor social life, I actually did something this week (or at least a lot for my anti-social self). Thursday night after I had taken a shower and was getting ready to crash for the night my sister decides she wants to go for ice cream at McDonald's. Well, of course that means I have to get dress and go with her. lol. Becca needs a buddy to do stuff with (she doesn't do loner well). Then Friday morning my sister calls (this time Laura) and says her husband's in town and whats to know if we want to go get beakfast with him (Dan's in the Military so he's always traveling). Well, that was pretty much a ticket for a free breakfast with bacon, eggs, pancakes, and orange juice (compared to my cold cereal at home) so I took it. Becca and I had breakfast, then I went off to class, and Becca hung out with Dan all day.

So, other than that the only thing I really did was last night. Last night I spent about 4 hours watching the Labyrinth and trying to copy down all of the lines so I could write a paper analyzing it (for a bazaar movie its got a lot of psychology in it) for my Honor's Class paper.

This weekend I need to read my text book chapters for Speech and start V Was for Victory for my WWII class. If I didn't hate reading for class before I do now.
