It's New Years, Bitches!

2011 is over, I finished the diploma, am going to miss seeing my classmates and teachers hope everything works out good for them. I went to the Big Day Out, saw Nick Cave live which was as close to a religious experience I have ever had. Spent lots of time with my excellent friends, however stayed single with no grey area for the duration, which I think may have been a good thing in retrospect. I finally had enough of my life long battle with insomnia and sought  treatment, and ended up on antidepressants which have done the trick for the most part when I am not in super stress mode.  I saw Amanda Palmer play Radiohead's Creep on the ukulele on an artificial island on an artificial  lake, however she managed to remain the most genuine thing I have ever seen.

I joined the SES, attended a call out to find a lost tourist and found it to be the most physically exhausting but rewarding experience I have ever had.  I showed up to a pretend wedding party hosted by the Divine Miss G dressed as a stripper, shaved, baby-oiled,fake tanned and glittered up. A week later a guest at that party said to me that she didn't recognise me with my clothes on, which was an epic win.

My last surviving grandparent passed away, severing a link to a heritage I have never fully come to terms with and now never will.

So it is all over, for the new year I am hoping to get a new job in the industry of conservation, a girlfriend who is way more indie than I am, the maturity to deal with that relationship no matter where it takes me, and I want to save up some money to go for a another backpacking trip. I hope everything goes great for my friends and family, and to my LJ friends I hope the year passed with no writers block and lots of interesting comments.
