Mega Man X Bugs!!! Plus Exodus/Death

Jul 26, 2009 18:54

I'm finally making progress on Mega Man X. Before, there would be this oh-so-tiny-gap in which whatshisname couldn't fit through, so you were denied access to the bosses. I think this was because you were supposed to defeat the other bosses first.
Anyway, I'm defeated 4 of them now!!!!!: D I feel quite proud of myself.

Now, one of the bosses was called Flame Mammoth. You have to fight him on a conveyor belt. He throws oil at you (which does nothing), and then he throws fireballs, which combined with the oil can be slightly irritating.

Oh, and he jumps every now and then, and when he lands, there's this huge gigantic BOOSH when he lands, paralysing you for a few seconds. I've found the only way to avoid being paralysed is to jump onto the wall.

So in other words, you have to dodge his flame, try not to get paralysed, and avoid being flattened. It took me a few tries, but every time he jumped I simply used Speed Boost to go underneath him and fire missiles at him, despite being paralysed. Then I got him eventually.

But! There's this funny thing here. A bug in the game! I'm not sure how if happened, but I had heat-seeking missiles equipped, and was climbing the wall, and the guy kept jumping and jumping at the other end of the screen without actually DOING anything.

After a while I decided to check what was going on, and found that he was HALFWAY THROUGH THE FLOOR. It was weird. He was throwing fireballs, but of course they bounced off the ground and didn't hit me. I still got paralysed, but because of the bug in the game he couldn't move. Tehe, I could finish him off easily there. Used up all my missiles and almost all of my ice attacks.

The boss I did after that one was that boomerang guy. Good grief, the level is harder than HE is. I literally had to use about a dozen save states just to get to him.

And then, and then he decides to be the MATRIX OF BOOMERANG, For You Know I Am A Prick, and does some kind of Neo Power towards you, which I dodge only by climbing up the wall, and then he throws a boomerang at me, which I can only dodge by jumping back down again, and as soon as I do that he goes through me, which cannot be dodged. Prick.

Although surprisingly, all you have to do to defeat him is keep firing missiles at him, because his defense is so crappy that that's all you need. You don't even have to dodge at all, because he freezes every time you hit him. Prat.

I'm currently engrossed with the thingy, the bit after the plant level...I forget its name.

What else is there on my mind today? Chapter 11 of my daemon story, what shall there be...more random people. I like Isira. For the purposes of debate, she is not a ninja.
Not really. Just because she has a sword.

And I shall leave you today, ladies and gentleman, with one of my favourite Death riffs of all time, which is from...I can't remember which song it's from actually. Somewhere near the end, I think. It's probably off their Leprosy album, and for some reason I keep thinking it's Killing Spree but I'm sure it isn't.

Bass doubles the guitar, obviously.
Wait! I ought to give you the arpeggio for- no, that'll have to wait.

Oh. Whilst I'm here I'll just write down probably the best riff of all time. Ever. Yes. Even THAT time. You know what I mean. Not that you do.
Main riff of Funeral Hymn by Exodus. All in semiquavers obviously, with all of the drop Es under palm mute, as is the formality in a lot of thrash metal riffs.

First note has a pull-off attached to it, and of course the riff will vary throughout the song. It could be a little different, I suppose. I could only find one riff for this song (the only non-Guitar Pro one) and it sucked.
