Grey's Anatomy Season Premiere

Okay, I just have to gush about it a bit, so consider yourselves warned - there be **spoilers**.

It feels good to see this story continue, to meet all the more or less screwed up people again that I have grown fond of. To watch them save lives again with funky stuff (freezing a guy, huh - and what did you do last week?) and to spot and make fun of the surprisingly convenient parallels in the lives of patients and their doctors, which keep popping up. Also, this show's music often is pretty amazing. The song at the very beginning of the first episode of the new season? Breaks my heart.

I also especially enjoyed to see Callie and Erica's storyline continued. Erica's expression when Callie tells her she wants to continue whatever they've started there, it's just the cutest yay-face. I had to make an icon of it. :>

And the little scene with granny-Meredith and granny-Christina... sweet, and funny, and SO typical of them. They do have some weird kind of friendship, but to me, it feels more real because they keep saying mean things to each other casually, and don't spend any time giggling while discussing their boyfriends but usually sit together looking sorta morose, and then help each other without needing so much as a word of clue from the other person, because in spite of all mean words and hard looks, there's deep understanding between them.

That new doctor, the army guy who put a pen in a man's throat... well, I don't like his looks much and I think he says "So?!" way too often, but he's fun (in a brutal kind of way) and I actually hope he changes his mind and pops back into the series again at some point. I suppose he'd have to, really, or they wouldn't have brought in that romantic bit with Christina. Now they can either bring him into the story and help Christina to finally get over Burke, or they can leave it at that and make Christina look confusingly, uncommonly slutty.

In general, things aren't as horrible as the teasers and snippets led to believe... I'm looking foreward to watching this show regularly again, and praise be to the internet once more, for it allows me to watch the episodes right after they air in the US (as opposed to waiting like half a year for them to air here... with awful, awful dubbing, too). So, basically... yay! :]
