And if I see moose walking through I'm going to be very careful what I put in my mouth from now on...
Last night was an awesome night for hanging out in the screen porch and listening to the frogs, the crickets and the cicadas between cycles of the a/c compressor.
About 10:00 pm I saw something small and furry launch itself onto the hanging millet feeder. "Oh look" I said to R. "a bat."
Whatever it was went to the other side of the feeder directly out of my view.
I figured the feeder was a good place to set up for some bug eating.
On my way to bed I went to check out the other side of the feeder. I knew something was still there, because I'd seen it move just a smidgeon.
And I came nose to nose with a little furry mammal with big eyes, who after deciding that fleeing was a good plan, made a leap to a tree and scuttled up out of sight.
Google informs me that I have a Southern Flying Squirrel, which apparently, eat seeds. Yay for nature!
