I've been thinking about initiating a search for my birth parents since... well, since I was eight. Now that I'm in college plus a few other issues, it's really come to my attention that I want this. I'm willing to work for it. Problem being, I am lost and confused. I'm from Massachusetts through Catholic Charities and I heard that Catholic Charities adoptions shut down? Basically, I don't know who to write/call/meet with in order to get information- non-identifying or not. I asked my parents, but they don't have anything reliable (we lost my little sister and my mother burned everything relating to my adoption as a reaction - more below) except for their memory.
Aaaand, is there any way to track down a lost sibling? I doubt it very much, and she probably doesn't even remember me/us. When I was four we adopted a second child, but whether intentional (probably) or not, the adoption agency didn't cross their 't's and dot their 'i's. That led to the return of the alcoholic-but-sober birth mother three years later and the courts granted her custody. We had Victoria from 4 months old to 3.5 years old but since she isn't biologically related, I don't know if it's even possible to locate her.
Thanks in advance. ♥
