(no subject)
As some of you may remember from my previous post, Jeanie and Eric traveled with us to mom and dad’s for Christmas. It ended up being a good plan. It made it so much easier to have everyone together. Mom and Jeanie worked together to make Christmas Eve supper. We sat around and talked. We went to midnight mass together. We even went to my mom’s side of the family together.
I’ve really enjoyed having a week completely off. I didn’t work at Steve’s at all. This means I ACTUALLY let me have some down time. I didn’t get up until after ten o’clock each day. Granted on Wednesday and Thursday I woke up for like five minutes around seven cause JP was getting up, but still… I haven’t done that in a long time…a REALLY long time.
Santa was good to me. He even persuaded my parental units to help me buy new tires for my car. I have a new phone. AND Grandma bought JP and I the KitchenAid mixer that is so awesome. I’ve been having fun cooking all kinds of goodies.
We celebrated New Year’s at JP’s cousin’s house. We stayed up until midnight playing games. I won all of them except UNO. I’m officially the “Smarty Pants” I’ve been accused of for so long.
I really don’t want to go back to school tomorrow. I’ve enjoyed the down time. I’m hoping I’ll be more cordial to those around me. And I can’t wait for this semester to be over. Then some of my students will be gone (hopefully). Though I hate to see some of my students leave. Especially since a really great talent is moving away. I hope that she doesn’t get lost at her new school. I’m trying to get her hooked into a composition contest at Webster University. She really has a talent for it. I really hope things keep working out for her.
I can’t wait to come up the QCA for Honor Band. I think my two students are excited about it too. And then there is IMEA. My administrator okayed for me to be there from Wednesday night to Saturday. Which is awesome because I’ll get the CPDU’s I need for my re-upment of my certificate.
Not much else to say. I’m hungry, so I think I’m headed to cook supper for JP and I. Hope all of your year’s started well and continue to get better and better and BETTER!
