I finally picked up a new anime to watch that recently came out a couple of months ago. I mean seriously, a majority of the stuff that's been coming out is too generic or cliched. Still, I finally found one out of a whole lot that I can really appreciate.
It's called "Aoi Bungaku". What they did is the got a collection of stories from before 1950 Japan and decided to animate them. I like it because each story has a different artistic design, and they are based around psychological/horror/drama stories. I'M A SUCKER FOR PSYCHO HORROR DRAMA STUFF!! What's kinda cool is that they begin the episode kinda like how Rod Serling began each Twilight Zone episode, but the problem with each story (PROBABLY A BIG SPOILER) is that someone always dies at or near the end of each story. Love the art, imagery, and allusions that they portray; it makes each story more enjoyable. I guess what makes it so enticing is that these stories are told like a book; they're meant to entice the reader to continue the story. The stories are short, sweet, and to the point so as not to drag out something more than it needs to be. Plus, it had a lot of psychoanalysis, which is something I always liked.
My favorite(s) of the stories would have to be "Kokoro", "A Spider's THread", and "Hell's Screen." It dealt a lot with "perceived reality" - in other words, different perspectives.
My least favorite would probably be "Run, Melos!" Seemed a little too homo. IDK, some of you girls out there might like it.
Anyways, I'm glad I finally found something to watch. It's sorta been a dry spell on the new series lately, but old one's continue and new seasons have started. Major started its new season, and Naruto and Bleach finally got back on track.
Still, working on props..............slowly as a slowpoke ~__~
Still deciding on whether or not to go to Fanime.
:P
