I was driving with my dad today on our normal route. It drives along side a shooting range for about 5 seconds, where there is a stop sign. I'm driving, reach the stop sign and pause to take a sip of some of our coffee.
Dad wants to watch what they are doing. I look too. A cage is opened across the field and a white bird shoots out. There is a gunshot, and it misses. My heart soars in excitement, thanking God it escaped.
Two seconds later, I hear another gunshot and the bird that had deserved its freedom was shot. White feathers everywhere, and I sit there shocked as I see it fall.
"Even when they get away, they have to die." My dad said.
All the way home, I was sobbing.
