I heparinised my right index finger at work last night. I shattered an ampoule of heparin causing a 4 mm X 3 mm shard of glass to lodge itself in my finger. It took about 2 hours to stop bleeding.

If you are an Australian taxpayer you paid for my bandaids :)

House hunting is exhausting work especially because I have to work within Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time which is 3 hours ahead of WA because we don't do daylight saving. It is weird that by 2 PM Melbourne business hours have ended because it's 5 PM over there.

I've just got home from my very last day of clinical practicum as a student nurse.

In a few weeks time I will apply to the Nurses Board of Western Australia for registration as an RN. Then I'll send a mutual recognition application to the Victorian Nurses Board so I can practice at the Alfred in Melbourne.

Yay!!!

To get to the lifts at the front of the hospital I have to walk out of the respiratory ward and then walk through the neurosurgical ward. Actually I like walking through neurosurg because it brings back happy memories of my placement there earlier this year. I also bump into nurses I worked with and they still recognise me and say hello. That ward ( Read more... )
