I was just sittin here watchin Family Guy with my sister, waitin for Beth to get back from Syracuse, and I started reflecting on the weekend and how much fun I had. Just to attempt to make everyone jealous of me, I will recount the hours now:
I got to Camden at about 6:30pm. Ross already had dinner waiting for me. Of course it was wonderful, as all his meals have been. We relaxed for a little while (and im sure you can figure out what i mean by "relax") then we got ice cream at sylvan beach and just barely missed the sunset. After, when it had gotten really dark, Ross and I went over to his family's place to do some star gazing (can you believe ive never actually laid down and looked up at the stars? thats just REDIC!). Ross really had to do some convincing to get me on the ground though -- being not only afraid of the dark (damn its dark on those backstreets with no streetlights!) but of snakes. But he got me down there. the only thing to be afraid of was the freakin bugs which truly made a meal out of me. But it was totally worth it....not only were the stars amazing, but the fireflies were like nothing ive ever seen. I cant believe how many there were...it looked like we were completely surrounded by stars on all sides. Even on the drive back to Ross' apartment...you could see them in the fields. I was pretty stupified by it all.
On saturday morning (er..late morning) Ross took me strawberry picking. I couldnt wait cuz id only been when i was younger, and wild berries at that. we took the tram out to the field and picked ourselves 8 qts of strawberries. Ross was kind enough to foot the bill (i had no cash on me -- embarassed face). The berries taste AMAZING. so freakin sweet. With the temperature being at a nice toasty 90+ degrees, we headed over to sylvan beach to go swimming. Sylvan beach is pretty fucking awesome, i must say...never been there in its busy season before. there were people EVERYWHERE...enjoying the water and sun. the beach itself was wonderful..warm water, all sand, no much...it felt great. when our hands were good an pruney, and after i sufficiantly scared ross by swimming out "too far", we dried off and headed off to Elaine's garage sale. The lake she lives on is beautiful.. not bad for a lil lake. I scored a couple coolers for only $3.00 total (wee oo!) and we continued on to ross' place to get ready for dinner. He took me to the place he works in sylvan beach. I ordered Scallops Patricio and it was pretty damn good. we were good and stuffed after dinner so we took a walk around the entire town and watched the sun set for a little while. Then we went back to the royal to get some icecream. we ate as much of it as we could while watching the remainder of the sunset. It was so beautiful there that I didnt really want to leave but oh well. We attempted to get our camera developed but by the time we got to Walmart, the photo center was closed. So we headed on home and rented Garden State. A very interesting movie, i thought. I love Zach Braff and natalie portman's character was fab.
On sunday, we didnt really make it out of bed so well..it was entirely too hot and neither of us got too much sleep. when we did rise, though, we headed over to the party ross' mom had for sunday school at Forest park. After saying hello and chatting a bit, we went to get lunch where Ross' sister worked. after we had harassed Sarah thoroughly, we took the subs back, ate and took a nap. by the time we got out of bed again, it was time to head over to ross' parents again for some apple pie and chatting.
This concluded my weekend.
Just had to let you know, Ross...I had an amazing time. Thanks for being so wonderful. I can see why you want to stay around camden...its a beautiful area and the people are pretty fabulous too ;)
anyway..back to the "real" world so to speak..tomorrow i have to actively go hunting for a job or two. wish me luck! ug.
