But Aunt March...

So we watched the '70s Little Women this afternoon. It was just as bad as I thought it would be. It was hilarious. The girls were appropriately bad. The worst, and I didn't expect it, was Amy. Must have been the hair (those horrid curls!) in part. Beth was... outgoing and hearty. William Shatner was terrible. His accent, if you could call it that, was a mixture of German, Russian, English, American, and mumbling.

This had the distinction, though, of being the first movie version so far to mention Belle Moffatt and Sally Gardiner. Even if the '94 version had it was "Sally Moffatt." The previous movies didn't have those families existing at all. The big party, where Jo and Laurie hung out, was set at the Laurences'. Also, it was the first one to touch on the Amy-Jo feud with the manuscript-burning.

That might be the only good thing I have to say about this movie.

A lot of things didn't make sense, and were fun to make fun of, though. Like the outdoor scenes that were so obviously fake. "Look, it's a 'winter scene' soundstage!" We burst out laughing when Amy fell in the ice.

And some of the suits and hairstyles that the men wore! So '70s! Did not look like 1860s to me. Looked much more like 1970s.

It was just what I expected. It was perfect.

I found a site with some pictures!
