A/N: This drabble was first written 17 november 2007, but I recently cleaned it up to what it is now. It’s is inspired by ‘The Morning That Always Comes’ by oriconsroad (found here); a short and sweet fanfiction about Yunho and Jaejoong, members of the band 東方神起. You can see this as a fanfiction but it’s open to any interpretation

He liked watching people. He enjoyed seeing them get roused by games in their high spirits, and observe them crying when in their lowest spirits. People were highly entertaining when one watched them go through all these emotions. Whenever he tried to join in the games himself, he always ended up feeling like a big idiot. Even more so for his silly attempt. He just didn’t fit in with people. That was the reason he tried to stay out and just observe.
      [...]
He sometimes wondered if he should’ve stayed where he was. In the place of the observer, rather than take a role of the participator. People told him this was better, now he experienced things; lived and made contacts. Yet, part of him couldn’t shake the feeling that he might have been more content on the side lines; there where he knew what to do, how to act and could see things develop, rather than being the one that developed them.
Some might find that position to be a cop-out: do not participate but expect everything in life nonetheless. To him, it wasn’t like that though. As the observer he was very much aware of what to expect. He knew that, to become friends with someone, one had to give a lot in return.
