No More Kids, and My Florida Nightmare

*Warning before you proceed, this entry does have to with my balls. So if details disgust you, maybe skip this one*

So I had the boy's clipped. The procedure seemed simple and was mostly painless. I was in and out within an hour. This was the end of December 2020, Sara had booked tickets to go see my parents in January just a couple weeks after the procedure. When she booked these tickets, the thought did cross my mind... what if something goes bad with the vasectomy? I shrugged it off. I still had swelling but up until that point things were getting better.

We arrived in Florida on a Friday. I am pretty sure we ate with Mike and Trish first. We met my good buddy Billy and his family at Disney Springs on Sunday. Everything was fine until I walked all day at Disney Springs. Things started to swell and it became hard to pee. I went to urgent care, they did an ultrasound, told me I had cellulitis and gave me oral antibiotics. There was something hard and swollen right above my penis, nobody ever said anything about it though. The more swollen it got, the harder it was to pee.

I struggled to go to the bathroom a couple days later, and realized my ball sack was becoming more swollen and stretched. Just the sight of it alone made me cry. We decided to take me to the emergency room at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

I hate hospitals, especially when I am the patient. Being overweight sucks when you need an IV because the fat makes it hard to find good veins. I only have one good vein in my left arm. So i spent the next couple of days as the nursing staff's fucking pin cushion. They gave me IV antibiotics, things got a little less swollen and i desperately begged them to discharge me so i could fly home.

So finally they did. We flew home, two kids in tow and a grapefruit ballsack. My eurologist took a look when I got back and told me he needed to drain the swollen mass about my penis. It was an abscess. As soon he did this the pain and swelling when away mostly. I had to frequent the urogist's office over the next couple of weeks to unpack, inspect, and repack the abscess until it was healed. Felt so great.

My Florida trip was ruined but at least I got to hang with some of my friends. Because of how hard we found it to travel with the kids, we may not go back for awhile. In May we decided to drive to Tennessee where I found the death moonshine and got a crink in my back. I met some one who gave me advice about my diabetes medication that changed the trajectory of my recovery but we'll get into that next time.
