Near the end if the summer of 2018, Sara, my mom, my dad, and I decided to take a trip to Nashville and stay in the Smokies. We all had a great time, we visited the Jack Daniels Distillery. The only thing that sucked was, my final semester of school started the same week and i had to figure kut how to get internet in the mountains and complete my first assignments.
Part of one of my final classes was to put together a movie about a topic of our choosing so I chose the days leading up to the birth of my first son, Gavin James Hileski. If you would like to watch it you can here:
https://youtu.be/Ii7PctS9_-c We named him Gavin because it was the first name we came up with that we both agreed on. James my father's middle name. Sara ended up being induced into labor but after some time Gavin was in distress the doctor had to perform a c-section. He was born on November 8th, 2018. I had a whole month off of work for paternity leave. A couple of weeks later I graduated from college with my Bachelor's in Graphic Design Specializing in Web Interface Design.
Things were really good for almost a year. Gavin and I would go places together after work like Target or the mall and every Friday we would dine in at Chick Fil-a. I started a new job with DealerSocket on the Website Build Team as a Website Onboarding Specialist. Its a big step up from support and its a sallaried position. Can't beat that. The week of Halloween 2019, I drove the Honda Element we purchased earlier that year down to my parent's house in Florida. When I moved to Wisconsin I had a Volkswagen GTI, a fast hatchback and we packed it as full as possible but there was still a Element full load of stuff of mine i had to get. I had the greatest time on the way down. I stopped at Mars Cheese Castle and the Jim Beam Distillery on the first day. I planned on driving later than I ended up, however I ended coming down with an extremely sore throat and cold-like symptoms. I ended up stopping at a Pilot Station and sleeping in the Element.
Sara flew with Gavin and met me at my parents. While we were in Florida went to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and I built my Lightsaber. I visited with friends and family. We loaded the Element up and a week later I drove home. At the time I didn't know that it would be my last adventure before our lives would be turned upside down with COVID-19 in 2020. We'll get into all that some other time.
