Changed my mind about the Christmas party for work. For the previous four, I have been put off because it means having to socialise with management, and what is there to talk about apart from work? And who wants to be talking about work-things at a bloody party?
I sort of promised I would go to this one, last year. At the time it was just a brush off; I said I would have gone last year if I had passed my driving test and got a car, knowing full well that even if I passed my test I wouldn't have a car in time. I shot myself in the foot with that one as I am the sort to keep a promise even if I'm not too keen. And that, boys and girls, is why you shouldn't go promising things willy-nilly.
I have no idea where the pub-cum-restaurant is, so I'll have to trust the sat-nav. So long as the bathroom has a window low and big enough to escape though, and which is neither bolted shut nor barred, I should do well.
And that should do for another four years.
