I'm sorry if I did not clearly preface my previous entry and thus startled anyone (like Victoria) with talk of the tent village. I was in a hurry when I posted the other entry, so I just went ahead and copied my email to Craig into my livejournal so I wouldn't have to write about the whole episode twice. But yes, I am in NC at my Mom's house because she is having a big workshop starting this Saturday (tomorrow) and going until next Saturday. Everyone who attends the workshop (35 people in all) has to stay here on her property for the duration, so they are sleeping in tents up the hill in the aforementioned "tent village" and eating all their meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) here at the house. The food is being prepared by Johnny and I again, so that is why I am here. We did this last summer too and it was pure hell because it's much harder than one would imagine and yet, we magically agreed to do it again this year because we are both suckers and don't know how to say no. After this, all I can say is, "never again." Of course that's what we said after the first one, and here we are. I am only here for Johnny because I wanted to see him again and it was this time last year when I was dragged into helping him in the kitchen and I reluctantly agreed even though I didn't even know him, and we ended up having a lot of fun together despite the stress of the job. So, now I've know Johnny for one year, and we are doing this again because we're both insane and willing to sacrifice what little sanity we have left to spend an entire week in the kitchen together all day long. Clearly we are far too sentimental for our own good and we should just make up some other excuse to hang out together. Anyway, this week should be interesting. David (the guy whose workshop it is who happens to think he is the king of the universe) keeps changing the menu to get exactly what he wants and make it more difficult for us, so we have to serve dinner to 35 people tomorrow night and we don't have any of the food yet, much less any food for the other days. That means we are going to die, because it takes a surprisingly large amount of food to feed 35 people. So, enough of this, goodbye everyone.
