You will not believe what just happened to me! OK, maybe you will, but I can't believe it, so clearly you should be sympathetic too. Today I got up, did some random things, went down to the barn to help Johnny assemble a ceiling fan, went up to the tent village to help Francis assemble a tent, etc. By the way, we were up there forever and we only managed to assemble one small tent in the entire time we were there, that was not very good on our parts, I don't know why it took us so long, but it is a difficult thing to do and it is extremely hot up there. Anyway, we've still got 8 more tents to go, and Emily and I were supposed to be going up there with Johnny to continue putting them up. So, I go to find Johnny and he is busy putting a small fence around one of the "Johnny on the Spot" toilets that was delivered today (yes, classy living up here in NC). He asked me to help him move this big pot of dirt/mud because it was too heavy for him to carry on his own, so of course I helped, and then he turned on the hose so we could wash our hands off. After I washed my hands I turned my back for a second to get back on the path, and he splashed me across my back with the hose. I was surprised, but he didn't get me that wet, so it was OK. A few minutes later (after I hadn't tried to get him back or anything) we were standing by the garage and he went in and came back out with a bottle of water. Before I even had a chance to think about what he was doing or react, he was splashing the water all over me and he ended up pouring it over my head while I held my hands up yelping in protest. He emptied the bottle and started laughing and walking away, so I followed him, not necessarily planing to get him wet, just wanting to beat him up, so he saw me and took off running, and I (stupidly) ran after him all the way to the pool where he suddenly stopped and turned around to face me. He pulled me to him in a bear hug to turn me in the right direction and then he pushed me backwards into the pool. This all happened very quickly, and I wasn't expecting that at all, so I was in shock, but I managed to get up pretty quickly, so I still wasn't soaked. I then did try to grab him to push him into the pool for revenge, but my hands were too wet, so I couldn't get a good grip and I couldn't push him. After a few more minutes of struggling I did manage to get him back by the pool again, but I still couldn't get him into it, so then he turned on me again and tried to pick me up to drop me into the pool completely. That time I finally realized what he was doing before he was able to do it, and I dropped to the ground so that he couldn't get a good hold on me anywhere to pick me up. After I stood up and continued trying to push him into the pool he managed to swing me around again and completely dunk me in the pool so that my hair, my shirt, my jeans, and my shoes were all soaked. I couldn't believe it, I fought like hell to keep him from pushing me under all the way, but it was still awful, and I still couldn't get revenge after that, so I finally had to give up. Now aside from the fact that he got all my perfectly clean clothes soaked, my real problem with being dunked in the pool was that the pool is really really gross. The tree frogs got in there and did their thing, and now there are a million tadpoles in there and the pool water has turned completely green because it is basically filled with pond scum. So, obviously I did not want to take a dip in a pool of pond scum, and no one else does either, so no one has been going in or near the pool at all (it is gross and contaminated). I expressed my sentiments about this to Johnny, but he claimed it was just like lake water, so I shouldn't complain. That may be true, but I'm not particularly fond of lake water for that very reason, and I certainly don't go out of my way to swim in lakes as opposed to pools or anything else. The only lake I have ever really enjoyed is Lake Tahoe which has perfectly clear water, but that is another point altogether. Anyway, I had to take a shower and obviously change clothes, so it has been an exciting new turn of events, I will never trust Johnny ever again. Catch you later. E
