I liked how the dragons sometimes keeps things from their riders. Obviously Merlin's dragon thinks Merlin is oblivious and it is apparently so. Well done.

And wow, cool explanation for Eragon's no-show... I thought that he was dead but I guess this is worse.... Also is Nasuada dead? Or is that to be revealed? In any case, I like the Varden and the Dwarfs. Can't wait to find out what happens there :D
