Previous Chapter:
Acceptance Jun stared at his brand new closet with sparkling eyes.
All of his clothes has been assorted nicely; his coats, outerwears, jeans and shirts were hung in order by it colors, the top shelf was for his t-shirts, the middle one was for parkas and blazers, and then the bottom one was for his hats and mufflers. He also had some extra space to put his bags - what’s more, he still have some room to expand his collections, and that got him really giddy.
Both Sho and Ohno didn’t mind him taking so much space - they were satisfied enough to fit their clothes in what was left from Jun’s territory - which was not more than one door out of four door closet. Jun tried to fit both men's clothes to empty space left, but in the end he decided that both Ohno and Sho needed new clothes. They also need a new closet because he was sure that it wasn't going to fit all of their clothes, especially when Jun started buying more clothes; he had to take them out for shopping again soon. Closing the closet with a satisfied sigh, Jun then turn around to face his room.
Ah, no. Their new bedroom.
The room was painted in a blue-sky color, as requested by Ohno, and their big bed in the middle of the room was covered with red silk bedcover, as requested by Sho. Jun ran his hand on the smooth sheets, remembering the time when they went out together to buy the furniture for their new home. Sho was the one who was as excited as Jun, though Jun had to restrict him from buying weird things to fill their living room - he gave Sho the freedom to design his work room though. As for Ohno, the oldest man among them was only tailing behind them quietly, responding when being asked, and laughing whenever Jun scolded Sho’s extraordinary sense. He got worked up when it was time to choose the bed though; Ohno bounced from one bed to another, looking all cute and happy much to his lovers - and also the attendants that were watching them - delight, and in the end he ended up buying the biggest bed they had in store, and he paid for it all by himself.
Jun learned that day that when it involved something that Ohno had passion with, the older man wasn’t afraid to spend his money.
As for Sho, when it was time for them to buy the furniture to fill his room, he was getting very careful. Sho kept on asking about the quality of the thing that he was about to buy; how strong it was, how about the material, etc.
Jun learned that day that Sho really was a smart buyer.
And it got him a bit embarrassed because Jun chose mostly by his feeling and impulse, if he saw something that he liked, he’d buy it immediately. That had happened when they looked around for sofa and dining table and such; Sho and Ohno was content enough to let Jun choose, and they even insisting to pay for it too, even though Jun was the one who picked them.
“We’re gonna use it together anyway.” Ohno whispered quietly so the cashier wouldn’t hear it. “So, let us pay.”
And so, Jun let them, and to be honest, their first shopping time together ended up pretty well.
But it was clear enough to Jun that both Sho and Ohno didn’t have the same level of energy when it came to the time where they have to unpack and arranging their things in their new place. Ohno was pouting when he see the endless amount of boxes, and Sho’s nose was scrunching, though he said nothing since Jun was watching them like a hawk, wordlessly telling them to move their ass and get to work already. With a massive pout in his face, Ohno dragged his art supply to his art room, and Sho did the same - though with no pout, only frown - to his work room, and then Jun settled with arranging their bedroom.
He believed that he had done a wonderful job in arranging their bedroom - he looked all around the room once more, smelling the faint scent of fresh paint and wooden, polished furniture and with a small smile, he walked outside.
There were fewer boxes in the living room, which meant that his other lovers have really been working. Jun found them in the living room; Sho was hanging a big frame of Ohno’s painting on the wall while Ohno was lazily watching him while relaxing in his hammock, having no intention at all to help Sho. He quickly straightened his body when Jun approached him with a frown though, and Ohno offered him a sweet smile. “Hey.”
“You should’ve helped him.” Jun said without beating around the bush. Sho turned around to look at him, asking help without words, and Jun sighed. “A bit more to the left.”
Sho moved the painting a bit to the left. “Here?”
Jun squinted his eyes. “More.”
Sho moved the painting again. “How about now?”
Jun took a step back, trying to make sure that the piece of painting was already right at the center, and then he nodded. “Good enough.”
“Finally.” Sho huffed as he climbed down the staircase. He then threw himself to their new black sofa, face-first, and he let out a groan. “Why is this sofa so good…”
“For real?” Ohno chirped in from his hammock; he then scrambled to his feet and dashed past Jun to test their new sofa. He let out a satisfied groan too as he sunk into the sofa. “This feels good.”
“You’ve tested it before, Satoshi.” Jun stated plainly as he watched the two men hogging all the space in the sofa.
“But it felt better after working. Come here, try it.”
“There’s no room - “To his surprise, Sho immediately pulled himself to a sitting position; Ohno scooted closer to Sho, and then he pat the now exist empty space behind him for Jun to sit on. “There’s a room now.”
“Silly.” But even then, Jun complied. He flopped down beside Ohno, and almost naturally, Ohno leaned to rest his head to Jun - this was how it used to be when there was just the two of them, but now that Jun’s lover wasn’t only Ohno, he wasn’t sure if it was okay with Sho.
But it seems he didn’t need to worry; despite leaning against Jun, Ohno’s hand was squeezing into Sho’s tightly, and when Jun glanced over to look at Sho, the older man was looking nonchalant - instead he was busy looking around for the TV remote, turning it on, and filling their living room with the sweet voice of the female announcer.
Jun stared at Ohno and Sho’s linked hands; he wasn’t sure if he liked it, but as he tried to study his own feeling first, it was safe to say that he didn’t hate it either.
“I’m thirsty.” Ohno suddenly spoke up.
“Me too.” Sho replied, though his eyes weren’t leaving the TV.
“Me too.” Jun added.
“I want cola.” Ohno said yet again. “Get it for me, Jun?”
“No.”
“You’re the youngest.” Ohno insisted, trying to instill his authority as the oldest between them. “So you should listen to us, right Sho-chan?”
“Sho-kun, don’t you dare.” Jun growled, even more when Sho snickered.
“You are the youngest.” Sho said, but before Jun could protest, he added, “But well. I think you should be the one getting us drinks, Satoshi-kun.”
“But why?” Ohno whined.
“You worked less compared to me.” Sho stated.
“You were lazing around in your hammock even though Sho-kun’s hanging your painting.” Jun added, because teasing Ohno was one of his five favorite things to do.
“Your unpacked boxes are the most compared to the rest of us -“
“And -“
“Fine!” Ohno stood and he stomped his feet as he finally walked to the kitchen while grumbling.
“I want cola!” Sho yelled.
“And cold ocha for me!”
“Yes, masters.” Ohno sneered, and with that, both Sho and Jun exploded to laughter. They laughed for a while, completely forgetting the awkwardness that was still engulfing the two of them; Jun was quick to remember though, and as his laughter died down, the awkwardness quietly settled between them. Sho let out a sigh; he was still smiling though, and as he shifted his attention back to the TV, he asked, “Still not comfortable?”
“Yeah.” Jun admitted. “Never know if I will ever be, though.”
“It’s just me, Jun.” Sho said softly. “It’s just me.”
“I know.” Jun replied. “It’s just you, but, to begin with, we are always like this, aren’t we?”
“How?”
Jun mulled for the right words. “Awkward.” He said then. “Awkward, and stiff, and, just…I don’t know. It’s weird to be around you.”
“I guess we are awkward.” Sho laughed, and Jun wondered which part of his words that he found funny, or if being ‘awkward’ was even funny at all. “Well, the man we both love has managed to bring us together like this, so I guess it is normal to be more awkward.”
“Yeah.”
“Just give it some time.” Sho mumbled then. “We’ll fix our awkwardness, somehow.”
Jun stared at Sho; the older man was staring at him too with a confident smile, and that made him smiled too, albeit a bit shyly, as he nodded. “Yeah. I hope so.”
“Good.” Sho ruffled Jun’s hair, making his smile faltered as he swatted his hands away. “Don’t touch my hair, you idiot!” He growled to Sho, but rather than being threatened, the older man ended up laughing instead.
“You are my lover too, what’s wrong by ruffling your hair?”
Though the words made his heart skipped a beat, Jun scoffed as he scooted away from Sho. “You’re messing it.”
“That’s the point.”
Thankfully, Ohno came back with a tray full of their requested drinks - the three of them was busy with their respective drinks, gulping down the content of the glass greedily, and then they went back to their position in the sofa.
Naturally, Ohno sat in the middle, head leaning against Jun’s shoulder while his hand was holding to Sho’s tightly. They settled comfortably.
And as Jun tried to study his feeling yet again, he found out that he actually liked it.
