And another thing! Don't be rude to a server for no goddamn reason! We're not second-class citizens just because you drive a Dodge Stratus!
I'm at work today, and having a minorly crappy day as is, when I walk by the table of a server near me. This person is not my customer, and I have never spoken to her. Her salad bar plate is sitting on the edge of her table, and it is empty with the silverware upon it. I stop and ask politely, "may I get this plate out of your way?" and here's the response:
She stares at me, frowning intensely, and barks, "No. You can leave me alone. Thank you."
Not like she was in a bad mood and depressed, but rather like I was a terrible server and had been bugging her about that plate all day.
WTF?!?
Why is it okay to act like that to people? I would never do that for no fucking reason! And to top it off, she seemed to be sitting with her son. Now come on, would you let your mother be such a stinking twat just because her taco's a little itchy, or would you step up and say "Hey mom, don't be such a hag. Apologize to the poor guy who was just trying to be helpful. Daddy says the fact that you spend all his money every day while he's at work means you're more of a drain on society than a waiter, not less."
Uh, I know I would. Anyway.
