what a long, strange trip its been....
Well I decided that I should do more updating since I hadn't except for personal matters. Which in fact seems to be getting better, we talk and I saw her tonight at Hillel and we talked and it wasn't awkward at all...strange. But anyways, one of the greatest things I've discovered at college via the computer is MY TUNES!! Oh man, its soooo awesome, you can download almost any music you want from the network of other users around campus and it takes like a few seconds for each download. So I've been downloading alot of music lately, especially stuff I had never really listened to before like *gasp* rap. Only certain rap artists, like 2Pac and Notorious BIG but I realized that rap does have its merits. What I like about 2Pac and Notorious BIG is that all their music isn't abt bling bling and girls and such, it has meaning, they sing about their experiences of poor urban America as black men and their lyrics are so smooth. Its just totally different than our comfortable suburbia existence. I may not connect with it but it does make me think about their suffering and gives me more insight into their experiences. Also some other new stuff like the Allman Brothers (who are so awesome) and the Grateful Dead.
My classes have been pretty good. I got straight B+'s on my mid-terms which is frustrating because I studied hard for them all. Hopefully I can work to bring them up at the finals. College classes are alot better than high school classes. NO BULLSHIT WORK! Just tests, papers, and reading. All my classes are very interesting and they seem to overlap in strange ways. My anthro professor is awesome, he's so funny. My US history professor is very interesting and talks about typical US history from different perspectives from which I'm use to. I guess thats college and its interesting. We have 4 unannounced quizzes in my US history class which suck hardcore because they are essay form and I HATE writing essays on the spot. Political theory is filled with interesting, abstract thought from a range of political writers. I try to read the assignments before each lecture but I really don't understand the stuff until after lecture and I re-read it.
I don't feel like writing much else.
I miss everyone from back home, like whoa! I'm pumped for Thanksgiving Break!!
