I never could get the hang of Thursdays...

""Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so." - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, c. 2

Having graduated this past Friday I find myself wondering what to do with life. I was able to reach what I believed to be the light at he end of the tunnel of the college educatory experience I realize that it's not so much a light sourced by the sun outside the tunnel, but a big floodlight that's there so you don't run headlong into the walls separating the forks in said tunnel. Which road to take? Adventure or Career, or both? Fiscal responsibility, or social responsibility, or both? Who knows? I'll hopefully figure something out, or else I might end up bringing the wonders of the sandwich to a far-flung backwater planet in he outer reaches of the universe, spending my time perfecting my art. Wondering what you want to do is a lot like trying to keep a ship from sinking with a colander or a packet of strike on box matches or anything else similarly ill suited towards the movement of water...

I'm not sure how many of the gift giving people of last Friday actually read this, but to you I am grateful. I'm in the process of writing my thank you letters. Let this be a preliminary thank you to all those who showed up to the party. There is no better gift than the company of friends and family. I'm very grateful for the framed pictures. I don't have very many pictures of myself. Even though I looked like a goof for much of my life apparently (seeming to enjoy the moptop/bowl cut) it's good to see the whole thing in one retrospective way (especially since my hair used to be thicker :) ) I really liked the last picture with Roger, Dad and myself, the way I look reminds me of Alton Brown (one of the new series of celebrities that I look up to) perhaps it's time to look into Rogain, or at least something to make my scalp less noticeable in pictures :). I just need to find a good stud to hang my studly pictures on. I used the gift certificate and check to get an iPod which has spurred an interest in podcasts. There are a few shining points in the ones I've checked out, and they vary on certain topics as to which are good and those that aren't. I noticed that there are a couple podcasts on the history topic, but they don't seem very good, I think that with the resources of a history department of an actual university behind it a useful podcast could be produced. I think I will approach UNO with the idea and see if something could be made of it even if my involvement is tertiary.
