The world has gone and passed me by...

Just finished watching the season finale of Battlestar Galactica. Wow! That's what I have to say about that. Just... Wow! I'm guessing they have a contract for the next season, or whatever you call it in showbiz terms. I hate cliffhangers like this and one of my favourite sci-fi series was pauged by unintentional ones (read: farscape), that and I've had a horrible track record picking shows to follow. I always seem to pick the losers, I could make a list of one season flops, but then that would lead me on a diatribe about how the American public doesn't appreciate decent television, and all they want are their American Idols and Survivors but that rant is probably one better left in my mind, lest I end up sounding too bourgeois when I probably fit in better with the proletariate.

This week has been an interesting one a little bit I guess. This week I learned that a can of tomato paste left to its own means can rupture itself (lesson learned gathering ingrediants I thought I had for sloppy joes). I also had two tests in Spanish class. One written, and the other a chapter test. I won't know the results of which for a little over a week (spring break is coming up, we'll touch on this later) I think I did well on both, but we'll see I may have overthought the written test. I have also been cooking more than I'm used to, resultantly doing a lot more dishes... I made Helper a couple days, tacos another (I didn't relize how low on salsa I was, but I had some Frank's Hot Sauce, so it was alright) and cookies. I think the reason I'm starting to enjoy cooking is it gives me an activity where I don't have to really think about anything other than the task at hand, this is especially true with the cookies, since it's more attention intenstive. I just turn some music (or muskit as my family called it when I was little) and grind sugar, flour, eggs and other assorted baking stuffs into a mixture that is ready for cooking for about an hour or two of meditation. Maybe I'm just weird, but I guess I havent had too many complaints about the results, granted I eat most of them, but I also haven't had too many complaints about my teeth or waisteline (unless you talk to my dentist *grin*).

My parents came down last weekend and we had a fun time chatting and going out to dinner at Qdoba (who have a reward card of sorts now, after 10 burritos you get one free or something like that). Along the course of the evening they mentioned something along the lines of continuing at UNO for a master's degree wouldn't be that bad. This is a thought that has been flowing through the mush that is my head for the past week now... It wouldn't be that bad, I'm guessing I could do it through night classes or whatnot. The question then becomes what I want to do with my life, given that I'm 25 and that not too many people live to be 100 is a quarter over now, or more so... I guess I'm a little scared of being one of those people who never see anything beyond the world they're born into. I'd like to get out of Nebraska for at least a portion of my life, better yet, out of the USA for a portion. That may seem a little harsh, but I would like to view the world from different angles, I'm just not sure that it's possible here. I guess upon graduating I could apply to the State Department to be a foriegn dignitary but I think my chances at that are slim. My aptitude for languages isn't as high as my aptitude for logical problems, and I know people who have applied for the foriegn services and not been accepted and I am in no way more qualified or smarter than they are.

Okay, it's time for a semi-segue now. Spring Break is coming up, heck it's going on now, college kids all over town are having fun now! Who knows what I'm going to do... I think I might head back to C-Town for a while just for the disconnect from everything it might provide in an attempt to get some time to figure stuff out, what the grand scale has in store. Sometimes I wonder what I would do if I had it to do all over again from the beginning of high school, but it's gone and past me by so who knows, probably would have done the same things... If anyone has any better suggestions of what to do with my spring break give me a call, you either have my phone number or not, it's a whole week.

RCPM are going to be coming to the area soon. Brookings and Lincoln are withing striking distance. I've told people in Lnc. that I would go to that show, and have a friend here who is apparently on the fence about that show, I haven't pushed it as I have others since not too many people here were interested in seeing a midweek show in another town. The Brookings show would be interesting to see with family I think, since I have family there, at least for the time being, and it seems to be a frequent stop for the band. However it's a weeknight and getting family members to a rock and roll show might be problematic, who knows...

Apparently in other music related news D.H.'s cousin's (at least I think that is the band he's in now) will be playing St. Patties day at O'Leaver's and the price of entry is two items of canned food. Might be something worth going to.

I've lost track of my thoughts and this has become much longer than I intended so I'll spare you all any more of my rambling.
