Sorry about the radio silence. Or not, if you didn't notice. lol
I've been distracted since the 15th because of:
I decided I did want another dog, but one that would be able to protect me (instead of a Livestock Guard Dog or Collie), and German Shepherds are tolerant to the outside, so I chose that breed.
Funny enough, there was a good breeder two places down from me. lol
I met her Jan 1, and other than her brother (who was already taken), she was the one that was crawling on me and biting me the most (apparently you want the one that's the most outgoing in this breed).
Got her the 15th at 8 weeks. And OMG, she is so different from all my other puppies. Talked and whined, and whined, and grunted, and pathetic. I ended up caving and bringing her inside. So she now is an indoor/outdoor dog, and sleeps inside in her comfy cage. AND she's been going to work with me. (Sucker!!!)
She does pretty well stuck on the leash at work tied to my table leg. (because wandering dogs in the clinic annoys everyone). And she's done well at peeing outside. Mostly okay at pooping.
Initially I wanted to kill it with fire pretty frequently, but I'm down to only maybe 10% of the day now. lol Mostly when she tries to chase the cats, or when she squeezes through the gate and tries to get herself killed via horse.
Also, cats = not impressed. I'm hoping all will be calm at some point, but not sure how long it will take.
