My sister and I had a lovely vacation in Isla Holbox Mexico last week.
The short version follows.
Learned:
*relaxing and doing nothing is hard, yo.
*Mexico version of heavy seas and Oregon version of heavy seas are very different
*bring a towel, even if someone else suggests you don't need to
*#dogs = # people.
*while there are some cars/trucks, most vehicles are bikes (motor and other) and golf carts
*service in restaurants works on its own time
*you have to ask for the check at restaurants
*the drainage system is such that all toilet paper has to be thrown in the trash. OTOH, the toilets flush so well I think I could have flushed one of the dogs running around
Awesome:
*shoes are optional
*anything besides a swimsuit +- cover-up is optional
*make-up is optional, as is hair gel
*yogurt, fresh fruit, and granola
*OMG wall art/murals everywhere
*figuring out how to chill
*the prices of things
*all night heavy rain
*all the birds!
*gelato, and the strawberry cream thing at the blue place
*two particular restaurants
*massages on the beach
Bad:
*a few lunches there were really crappy
*hot water is optional
*all night heavy rain lol
*beds of rock
*only saw 4 cats, most of whom were jumpy
