I always think of something to say when I'm out in the barn, or riding, or whatever, but by the time I get settled, with my tea, and the cats and everything I just get sucked into reading. Not sure how sorry I am. with all the reading. lolol
*When Charlie sits on my lap, he'll let me curl him up so that I have both hands free to do whatever.
*When Moose sits on my lap, he insists on laying across my left arm so I can't use it, and tries to bite me if I move him. So I hit him on the head. I think it's a stalemate. Or not, considering he's currently laying across my arm purring. He's an ass.
*Bogey never just comes and sits. He tries to ask like he's being sneaky, then seems to hem and haw for*ever.
*Mudball is back. Luckily I got in one ride on Zolar before he turned back into mud ball. And, he's done it enough that by now he's not as sensitive to grooming, so I can rough curry the big chunks off. He's still back to brown/yellow rather than lightish grey.
*I'm cutting Sally's prevacox to a half dose now. She seemed okay today, so hopefully it'll work out that I can completely stop after next week. I think most of the limping is mechanical-permanent injury/weak muscles.
*Took Silas to the vet yesterday to get his heart worm test and shots. Changed him to the heart worm shot instead of the chew, which he really likes, but is every month. The shot is only every 6 months.
*In a few weeks I'll take Sally in to get her shots, and change her over too. Will be interesting to see how much she weighs now after losing all that weight with her injury this summer. I'm just glad she finally got her spirit back.
*Work is slow again. Not great. But the first half of the month was busy. Hopefully it'll be okay. Still trying to catch up from this summer.
*Although last week I had this nasty situation involving an older patient in the hospital and trying to get an adult specialist to see him. Why are specialists often such assholes? (he said some very shitty things about the patient to the mom and made mom cry. In fact, he probably had pretty much the right diagnosis, but could have been, oh *tactful!*) Even pedi specialists have been known to be jerks on occasion, although thankfully rarely. You are not better than me or my patient.
*I feel a little bad because I haven't ridden or worked with Tess or Rex the last few weeks. I've had a concert, or birthday party, or just too wiped out. And yes, twice I did yard work instead because I live in the country, but still don't want to look too much like a jungle. I have made a special effort to love on them and scratch them, so they seem to be okay with it so far. We'll see the next time I try to ride one of them. lol
*Oh, have decided to go ahead and try to teach Tess to pull. Her canter is so awkward to ride that I don't think I'll want to put her in dressage much. And she really does have the conformation for driving. At some point I'm going to take her over to my trainer's for a lesson, and we'll use her pulling breast collar on the western saddle. That'll let us wrap a line around a railroad tie or tire, then a loop around the horn that can be easily let go if she gets too upset.
Eventually I'll try to get a little cart. Still trying to figure out harness or collar. Collar is more for heavy/pulling. Harness for lighter things-light cart. But, it's a little trickier to get the collar properly fitted/made.
Unfortunately my friend who was a driver has passed away, and I don't want to deal with the one lady I know of who trains horses to drive (and she lives a bit away). So it will be K and I figuring it out. :D Good thing Tess is a good sport for the most part.
*Friday the 13th is on TV. The old ones. :D But I have to go to bed. :(
