a twist...

[OOC: Like the previous post, case-related events mentioned in this post reference 20x22 "Love Eternal."]

Okay, we were wrong about Cremain Diamond Lady...

...she still dresses tacky as hell and is completely crazy, but she didn't kill her husband.

Turns out, the husband, DiNapoli, and two of his best buds had a plan to hide the money they made from an investment, divorce their wives and then have the money "reappear."

Except that DiNapoli realized he loved his wife and backed out. So she was right. They were in fact soul mates. Or. Something.

His pals, though, didn't want their wives to find out about the plan, so one of them, Stavro, agreed to "take care of the situation."

Yes, DiNapoli was left in a cage by his wife while she went out of town for the weekend, but it was out of true love, and there was no sword play involved (this time). The sword wounds were from Stavro, who came over, used DiNapoli's defenselessness to his advantage and stabbed him, then made it look like it had been Mrs. DiNapoli.

We're trying to get her to work with us, see if we can't get her help getting a confession from Stavro...

...so to recap, our case is hinging on a volatile woman who turns her dead husbands into jewelry. Just another day at the DA's office.

Oh, and it's hot as hell and I'm pretty sure I've reached the waddling stage.

trial, love eternal, casework, dead people diamonds
