Wednesday morning thoughts

Being handed a huge case to first-chair so shortly before trial AND being charged with contempt of court was NOT what I had in mind when I went to work yesterday morning.

I think McCoy's seriously ill. Or something worse. His excuse for giving me the case was something along the lines of "I'm busy" and he wouldn't say anything else about it.

At least I have Brian at my disposal. Hehehe.

As far as the contempt charge goes--I will gladly fork over $2500 if it means that Judge Ross is off the trial. Sorry, Jack. I'm actually with the defense on this one.

And of course Melnick whipped out a change of venue motion. If the venue gets changed this late in the game, I'm seriously going to go crazy. All I need is a trial-length stay in Albany or somewhere else upstate.

I'll be here in my office if anyone needs me, eagerly awaiting Judge Ross's ruling.

Actually if we moved upstate, it wouldn't be terrible--then I might be able to get work done. As it is, I can hardly take work home without running into problems. I spent all of Sunday at Ileana's trying to do trial prep. Maybe having two passive-aggressive ADAs for roommates wasn't the best idea in the world. I'm not sure how much more I can deal with living with Christina. I know I must drive her crazy, too. Something's going to blow and like I told Danny, I need to move out before it does. I do not want to ruin a friendship over this.
