Thoughts: Bleach Rock Musical Saien
Just watched the Bleach rock musical, so here's a long-winded, uninteresting post--be warned. Saien is pretty good, but I'm not a huge fan. It's too easy to make fun of for its extreme Japanese-yness...exaggerated, stylized poses and songs about love, power, and friendship. From a theatrical standpoint, I like it a lot more. The tech work is really creative, especially lighting and effects. Even though it's nerdy, I like the way they represent power and use stage combat. As for the songs...eh. Some mediocre, some okay. I like Rukia's voice. Ichigo is always flat. I think I'll probably like the Bankai show and other stuff more, though. Just to see the characters goofing off. This is a list of my favorite characters in Saien based on how faithful in looks and behavior to the characters they are.

Hinamori and Rukia are just perfect! But I guess that's easier when the characters actually look Asian. Renji's face is just too round. Haha. But I think he's one of the best actors in the show. Extra props to Urahara and Orihime, my other favorites in Saien. I really liked the actor who played Aizen, even though I wasn't a fan of his looks for the part. Same goes for Ichimaru, but I'll be damned if I don't cream at Kansai-ben, anyway. And OMG Kira-kun! You are sooo darn cute. SO CUTE! When he pulls taichou back from his "bai-baiiii!" Hahah. And he's a really good singer, though Hinamori and Rukia are probably the most talented in that department. I love all the songs at the end. The shinigami dancing, LOL. I pretty much stare at Byakuya and laugh. That "Silent Wish" song is pricelessly funny. Guy's got moves, tho' and he's pretty hot. But were are Ishida and my Rangiku-san? Ran is probably the hardest to capture physically, LOL. My favorite song was the one at the end that Orihime, Chad, Kira, and Hinamori sing. It has a great beat. That's it. "The last words go to Kira Izuru." ホラ、さいなら！
