(i'd thought i was safe from gushing ignorance and mind-bending with the cbc // forget it, just as swamped with feel-isms, mood swings, as the american stations ...)

a breath of fresh air,
thank you

A rare, but welcome, compliment, thank-you (*blush*). Daseinfiasco (also an LJ listed friend of yours, I think) has just been banned from LJ for "conduct violation", ie. for writing similar criticisms of the media and film industry. I probably only have a few days left, so au revoir!

heh. satire reaches new (if not slightly unsubtle) heights. brilliant. like particularly said, a breath of fresh air (except for me, it was just kind of funny).

didn't like your *blushing*. we're getting a little bit too attached to the internet and all it's little nuances.

In times of "war" the subtle pen dies. Thanks for the praise (*in heaven*). I thought that the (*) was Particularly's poetic invention, evidently it's not (*disappointed*),

I particularly like suspect no.3, although I suspect you stole the idea from that Angela Carter quote I quoted you.

If we didn't laugh, we'd cry, etc., etc.

Me a thief? How dare you. What quote? I actually borrowed the LJ idea from a poem I wrote in 5th year. The teacher picked out something for us to write a poem about, and he said - Gillespie, since your so fond of staring out at the Stacks (the two stripped generator stacks in Dublin Bay) write an ode to them, tell us what they say". This teacher had a great influence on me, and early in fifth year he had entered my maths class and asked the teacher there if he could have a word with me. He walked with me down to Blackrock Park, where he knew I normally spent my lunchbreak with my friends. He asked me was I alright, that I did not look well, that I wasn't handing in any of my work (which was unusual for me in regards English), and that I was less argumentative than the prior year. We both had one of his cigarettes overlooking the cloudy, half-rained, damp Bay and he walked me back. I did write the poem, about how everyone thought the stacks ugly (women, men, workers, priests), and how I thought they looked lonely over the empty ( ... )

Uh, that was a sweet little bit of reminiscence. Be careful you don't reveal your soft side to LJ.

And the quote was in the subject line of my comment.

LJ eats up the weak, and this weakness of mine shall never be repeated, it was 3 in the morning when I wrote it and my guard was down. Nunca mas.

Thank you, but I don't deserve the praise. The media does: to parody them these days exacts little effort. In reality I took the whole thing verbatim off the channel.
