I rode my bike to the raptor center for the first time today. It was a nice ride. I can understand why some people like two-wheeled forms of transportation. One of the Great Horned Owls, Myron, was really hooty today.
I signed up to volunteer at Operation Christmas child. I didn't get the date mom wanted, but the ones she gave me weren't right. The dates I hope she meant were full, so I put us on a waiting list for one of them. The one I got was a week later than the one she wanted, but it was the only one left this late in the day. I didn't register early this morning because I was busy, and I was gone this afternoon. If the early date opens up, I will cancel the later one.
I grabbed Nigel and preened off his pinfeathers. He didn't like it at all, but he looks a lot better now than he did before I did it. I loved up on him afterwards. He likes the classical radio station. He's talking to it right now.
Last Thursday was mom's birthday. We celebrated it on Saturday. I baked her a cake that looked like a giant hostess sno-ball. It tasted good, but I had trouble getting it out of the pan. Luckily it's a filled cake so I could salvage it. I made a lemon pie for my brother too. It was exactly the same recipe as the key lime one, but with lemon juice and zest.
