First chance to write in a long time

I've been going non-stop since December 1st. I had a party with really good food that day. I remember they had prime rib, salmon, salad, and the biggest asparagus I've ever seen. They had good red velvet cake, and these little chocolate things for dessert. The chocolate things were like a mash-up of lava cake, a brownie, and a donut hole. Then my next party was the CRC party on Dec 4. I had to make caramels and truffles for that. The truffles looked like mice, and I put the recipe up on the RBC email list. They had great food at that too. I don't remember everything, but there were stuffed grape leaves, corn casserole, green bean casserole, ham, turkey, deviled eggs, these crab rangoon things, cake, cheesecake, brownies, dips, and probably several other things I'm forgetting.

I've been to two parties this week too, and both were yesterday. One was my Bible Study group Christmas Fellowship. It met at one of the other group members' house, and we had a taco bar. I took caramels to that too. They also had banana pudding, cupcakes, and brownies, as well as taco fixins, guacamole, and chips. Her Christmas tree was cute too. It was a real tree, and it had homemade ornaments on it that her kids made. The other party was for mom's group of middle school girls. I wouldn't have been at that one if they had done it at the trailer like they were going to, but since there was not enough room there, Mom offered our house. She had crafts and games for the girls, and they had ordered pizza too. I played a fun game with some of the girls where they had a phone. The first person holds the phone up to their forehead so they can't see the screen where the answer is. Everyone else gives clues, and the person with the phone had to guess the answer. They loved Dixie, Beretta, Izzy, our Christmas tree, and our house, but most of them are pretty wild. There are a few quiet ones though. I get along with them the best. I ate too much pizza at that party. I need to remind myself that it isn't worth the stomachache to eat pizza, even though it tastes good. We also had cupcakes that mom baked and I decorated. My sugar cookies didn't get used at that party because Mom and I found ugly sweater sugar cookies on sale at Walmart for the girls to decorate.

I also worked at Operation Christmas Child on Monday this week. I had a job there that I hadn't done before. I filled filler baskets. That was hard because you had to fill two at a time, and it would have been easier for my sore little wrists with their little cysts to only carry around and fill one at a time. The filler items are used to replace items that aren't allowed, like gun-related toys (not good for kids in war torn countries) or chocolate (it melts). They also are put into boxes that didn't have enough stuff in them. There were some really cute items in the filler bins. I liked the pink and orange Ty fish. They were so round and cute. I also like the plush lambs. There were also handmade winter hats that people knitted or crocheted. I worked hard filling those filler baskets, and I had two dizzy/blurred vision spells. I think those were from exhaustion, because I took a big nap when I got home and was still tired. They also don't happen when I'm not tired.

When I haven't been baking or partying, I've been dealing with SSI and SSDI. I had my annual SSI review where they interrogate me about my (few) resources. Mom and I have also been filling out paperwork to get me onto SSDI instead of SSI. I think we are going to have to start over on that, and I have paperwork to do for a 7am phone meeting on next Tuesday. I am thankful to God that the worker who I saw back in October is taking my case. He is very nice and helpful, and my meeting is with him. Mom will be in on that call too. I think I can copy information from other papers I have onto this newest form, but I don't think we made a copy of the form I filled out back in October that had my work history on it.

I still need to call the sleep doctor too. I've had either nightmares or night time panic attacks three times in the past week.

I have to make another batch of caramels tonight. I have to teach the ladies' group how to make them tomorrow, and I want a batch made to cut for tomorrow.

At least my Christmas shopping is done.
