That movie was just awkward..... So currently half of the city of Harrisburg is underwater. (not totally just flooded out streets and some no go areas) I'm aware that it could be much worse- but we are talking poor drainage systems not levees or a city built on a flood plain.
We had a boil water advisory for two weeks due to two water mains braking. The first was from an ass hat contractor that drilled right into one of the mains the second was after the water pressure was turned back on cracking another one. As of current water has no where to go. I'm more than sure city island is totally submurged underwater (totally) again. Which is a shame since that is where the ancient bathhouse lives that i've been wanting to see.
How failed does your old infrastructure have to be in order for you to look at it and say "well damn we should probably fix this..." The flooded streets or the yearly cracking of the pipes are not new things. The city is old and wearing out, I'm thinking someone might want to look into that fact. What to they want a total collapse? Well could happen in more ways than one.... There are important buildings that house important things that should not have been built where we have the most of our flooding. The oh so silly irony is they've been running "worst case scenario" options lately.
I have packing to do today instead of errands (unless i want to take my kayak out so its not all bad) I'm excited about the new house- pictures will be taken on Saturday of the whole house so I will share :D
