Saturday was a pretty calm day. We started the morning at the Aloha Swap Meet (think giant flea market) which was held right outside Aloha stadium where they hold the Aloha Bowl. Now let me tell you, the Aloha Swap Meet is the place to go if you're after Hawaiian souvineers. How can you go wrong with 8 Hawaiian T-shirts for $20? Or a dozen leis for $0.99? I do love to save money, you know. We spent the morning at the swap meet and then came back home for lunch. After lunch we pretty much sat around and chilled. I spent some time talking with Terry, Sean and Channing. Very interesting discussions were had. We spent the afternoon doing much of the same and together we all cooked dinner. After dinner we went out to Dave's Hawaiian Ice Cream which is essentially Honolulu's version of Del's. Except that their specialty is Roasted Macadamia Nut ice cream, not peanut butter.

http://www.directns.net/gallery/saturday/ Sunday was quite an adventurous day. We started the morning early and drove to the North Shore to check out Waimea (sp?!) falls. It was about a mile hike to the falls where they had a swimming hole. We walked there and back and got some amazing pictures on the way. When we arrived back at the bottom we stopped for lunch at their island grill. The grill was outside and these fearless peacocks kept pecking at our food. There was also another (unidentified) variety of bird that kept swooping down to eat the french fries. It was grand. After lunch we had planned to go to the air force recreation beach at Bellows Air Force Station. On the way, my uncle chose to take the long way around the island... literally driving halfway around the perimeter of the island of oahu. We eventually made it to Bellows after a few hours for some body surfing and napping in the sun. While there, I managed to lose my cell phone! Oops! Luckily someone found it and handed it to the lifeguard who called just about everyone in my phone book (Sorry guys! I really wasn't the one calling you all in the middle of the night!) in an attempt to figure out who the phone belonged to. Eventually she did suceed and returned the phone to me. After Bellows we headed back home, ate dinner, watched the Tonys and went to sleep.

http://www.directns.net/gallery/sunday/ Today is Monday and I'm not really sure what the plan is for today. Perhaps a trip to Waikiki or diamondhead? Maybe the submarine museum? Maybe Macy's again? I'm sure it will all be figured out soon.
