BIke rides in a winter wonderland...

Tracy came over this afternoon and we took off for a shortish 15 mile bike ride. I had been a little worried that my recently purchased cold weather gear wouldn't be warm enough. I don't think the coat will be for anything colder than it was today, but I could fix that with a better base layer, which comes at just a price. Otherwise, if I had my balaclava (for my face) and some shoe covers (or even just some duct tape over my toes), I would have been fine to ride all afternoon long. I about ran over Tracy like 5 times because I kept assuming that she knew her way around town...which she didn't. So I'd try to take turns right in front of her when she wasn't expecting it. I feel bad about that, I've really got to start working on that.

Made a super freaking fabulous dinner. I got to make use of my new preparation bowls, which I particularly enjoy. Made a salad complete with green leaf lettuce, mustard greens, green onions, carrots, tomatoes, and blue cheese with a balsamic vinaigrette. The pork chops were pan seared and then baked with a whole grain mustard/garlic/basil crusting, though the crusting didn't really turn out crusty so I'll have to work on that in the future. They tasted wonderfully, though. Then we had some roasted garlic rice that we got out of a box, and trust me, as wonderful as it was, kinda ruined the whole thing I was going for. So, lets recap, I need to work on my side dish and my crusted pork chops.

I'm going to make like a banana and leave
