Hellooooooooooooooo

Jul 02, 2008 18:06

I've been kind of MIA on Livejournal lately. The reason is very simple - I'm not used to having so many people watching my journal, and I honestly feel naked. I've sat here multiple times over the last few weeks racking my brain, trying to figure out if what I'm thinking about is worth reading.

I finally decided to just say "screw it" and hope you think so.

Things that are currently awesome:

Webcomics
  • The Perry Bible Fellowship: Hilarious and pretty and very diverse.
  • White Ninja: Hilarious and quirky and at times, very cute.
  • A Softer World: Hilarious and touching and always makes you think.
  • Patches: Hilarious and SUPER ADORABLE.
  • And the old standbys: Toothpaste for Dinner and Married to the Sea.

Web: New Yorker Vulture - my favoritest pop culture blog on the interwebs.

Knitting: My next project - The Wicked Sweater. Although I'll be making the Cardiganized version.

    Out of Malabrigo. Guhhhh.

My current project. Coming along nicely. Although I'm getting sick of knitting with 6 balls at once.

THEORETICAL QUESTION: How much would you pay for a pair of these? (yeah hi, that's me) They are those Rose wristwarmers from the Doomsday episode of Doctor Who, and I'm thinking about maybe making some to sell in the fall. ...maybe.

    TV :
    • The most recent episode of Doctor Who was A++++++. You all know this already, as your f-lists were exploding with glee/despair over it.
    • I'm into the 3rd season of X-Files on my big rewatch. My friends made up this joke a long time ago, and every new episode I can't help but think it.

"Remember that episode of X-Files when Mulder was like IT'S ALIENS! And Scully was like IT'S NOT ALIENS, but then it like, WAS aliens?"

lol that's all I really have to say about the X-Files for now, except for the usual "Mulder is FOXY." Pun very much intended.

    • I've also been watching an inordinate amount of Family Guy. I blame the 5 seasons Amazon shipped me last week.
    • And how brilliant has Venture Brothers been so far!? How much do you want to bet that bastard that Hank is now getting a boner over is Brock's son?? lol

    Also? I miss Lost, guys. SO MUCH. And Battlestar Galactica, although we've been without that one less time. Only 6 months to go... ;_;

Music: Jens Lekman, Mirah, The 6ths, the new Girl Talk (like a billion times), the Russell Brand podcasts, This American Life podcasts, and lots and LOTS of The Beatles. As usual.

Movies: I saw Wall-E this weekend. Gave me a perma-smile and I think my heart exploded during that fire extinguisher dance, for those of you who saw it. Aw. &hearts

Books: I'm currently about 1/10th of the way through Order of the Phoenix in my giant HP reread. CAPSLOCK!HARRY is turned up to an 11 with the ANGST, of course. Love it.

I'm also about 150 pages into War and Peace. I plan on finishing that sometime before I hit menopause.

Mental images I've been using to go to my happy place while getting a series of EIGHT fillings at the dentist every Thursday afternoon: ONE and TWO.

Life: Work is fine, but boring. I've been partying/drinking/smoking 7 million cigarettes every weekend for 2 months, and there's no end in site. Feels like old times.

My sister's asshole cats almost killed MY cat earlier this week. That was majorly FTL.

OH and before I forget, I've been working on those icons you guys signed up for. Just...slowly. I'm in some kind of phase where it takes me 4 hours to pick out one goddamn screencap for some reason, and it's really throwing a wrench into my icon making.
