I just found out today that on of the Madhouse directors, Satoshi Kon, has passed away.
I am very very sad. I love Madhouse studios (hello Deathnote, Animatrix?)
One of the power houses of Madhouse studios, Director Satoshi Kon was responsible for Millennium Actress, Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers and Perfect Blue. I've only seen 2 of his films and one animated short. The three projects portray vastly different characters, settings and theme. Kon's defining feature as a director is the way he explores the psychological state of his characters.
(Wow writing is so rusty for me)
He was only 46, and on top of that, working on The Dream Machine, a film I've wanted to see since 2008.
