I FINALLY HAVE THE INTERNET BACK!!! Unfortunately, it took slightly longer than I anticipated due to the need for a new modem to be sent out (after we were told that we didn't need one), but it was worth it, because the new internet plan is made of much win. It's so much quicker, there's more bandwidth, it's significantly cheaper, and, perhaps the best thing of all, it's no longer through Telstra. Hell freaking yes.
So, how have you all been? It feels like it's been an age since I've had any internet access, and your lives all could have changed dramatically in the past few weeks.
I've been pretty quiet. It's been ridiculously hot for the last week, though. The temperature is already hitting an average of 34 degrees Celsius (93 degrees Fahrenheit), and it's still a month out from summer. This summer is going to be fucking torture. I may have to set a tent up at the beach, and just live there for the duration of the season. My arms are already turning brown again, for Jeebus' sakes (well, except for where they are stained with red food dye.)
Other than that, the past fortnight has been spent studying for exams, writing fic (and yes, for those interested, that includes Life on Mars fic. It just needs to be edited), making icons, working, alcohol and watching a lot of movies. Oh, and when I say a lot, I mean a lot. My movie list includes The Counterfeiters, Inglourious Basterds (including yet another viewing at the cinema), Love in Thoughts, The Evil Dead, Death Proof/Planet Terror (it doesn't count as Grindhouse until I see the unextended versions, with Edgar Wright's Don't trailer in between), Hostel (which was nowhere near as goretastic as I thought it would be), Velvet Goldmine, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, and I'm sure there were others that I am forgetting. So, the extended internet-free period wasn't as torturous as I had been anticipating. Having said that though... *clings to modem* NEVER LEAVE ME AGAIN, INTERWEBZ!!!
Speaking of movies, my flatmates and I are having a Halloween party of sorts tonight. Now, when I say party, it pretty much means movies, booze, a few cheap halloween decorations, and costumes. That's what the aforementioned red food dye is for - I was using it as blood splatter on a white shirt for my Shaun costume. (It was going to be Mia from Pulp Fiction, but I couldn't find a freaking wig anywhere.)
And speaking of which, Happy Halloween, oh wonderful f'list. Here, have a video (yes, it's Basterds-related, or, well, Basterds cast-related, but it's still amusing.)
