More importantly: how do I turn them back into their quiet selves?

We never heard a sound coming from our upstairs neighbours, to the extent where I was wondering if there was anybody living above us at all. Since a couple of weeks I've stopped wondering, as they have now made their presence all too known by randomly hammering away above us. I realise this is starting to become a recurring subject, but I just can't get over my stupid neighbour and this electric guitar he recently purchased.

I can't get over how poor his playing is. Let me rephrase that: I can't believe anybody could have such poor guitar skills.

A couple of weeks ago the neighbour dude bought himself an electric guitar and an amp. Now, if his skills were right up there with Thurston Moore, Jimi Hendrix or Mike McCready, this would be hell exciting.
