Resident Evil 5 Official Trailer

Looks good. I love the speed of the new zombies, and the daytime setting. Since Silent Hill V apparently isn't being made by Team Silent, and the Fatal Frame series has started feeling stale to me, I think RE5 will be THE horror game for some time to come.

Following Konami's E3 2007 press conference, in which the above Silent Hill V teaser (with the emphasis on tease) was shown, I followed up with Konami executives about the game's development. Silent Hill V won't be developed at Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo, it will-like Silent Hill Origins on PSP-come from a Western developer.

The Collective, responsible for games such as Marc Ecko's Getting Up and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, will be at the helm of the classic horror franchise's fifth outing. The Collective currently lists Harker as its only project, but may have put that project on hold to focus on development of Konami's Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 sequel.

The only good news so far is that Akira Yamaoka will be providing the soundtrack.

Also, what's wrong with making P-head into a vampire ? ;p

Oh yeah, here is Konami's press release about Silent Hill V.

The direction the Silent Hill games are taking reminds me of the Silent Hill comics, which were also done by Westerners. I heard there actually were some Silent Hill manga, but they were released only in Japan (and only on Konami's cell phone network).

I have a feeling that Silent Hill V will be even worse than SH4, which, while it was decent, was nowhere near as good as the first three.
