Silent Hill V + game stuff

Silent Hill V has been officially announced ! There is a 'trailer', though it's more of a teaser than anything else. See it here.

Looks like it will be coming out for 360 and PS3, though it may be a PS3 exclusive first, as it was with SH2 and SH4 for PS2.

Also, the PS3 has dropped $100. I know everyone thinks that it's overpriced (though I have always thought that is was perfectly reasonable considering the features vs. what you get with a 360), but the price drop just makes me want one more. Blu-ray is currently outselling HD-DVDs 2 to 1, and I don't see it slowing down. The 360 HD-DVD drive costs an extra $200, which makes it more expensive than a PS3 with blu-ray standard (plus, PS3s have built-in wifi and bluetooth, as well as free online gaming).

Sony will be releasing a new version of the PS3 with an 80 gig HD, but I think it will run an emulation program to play PS1 and PS2 games, whereas the current PS3s have some "emotion engine" that is supposed to have much better compatibility (unlike the 360 with original XBOX games). I'm going to wait to get a PS3 til I get a new TV, but I definitely want one that will run PS2 and PS1 games well.

2008 will be a good year for Sony, though I'm looking forward to a few 360 games like Bio-shock and Fallout 3. Oh yeah, Metroid for the Wii is coming out soon, and hopefully Zelda DS will finally be out this year. Overall, the next year of gaming looks great. Now, where the heck is Resident Evil 5 ?

PS: Here is the trailer for Silent Hill 0rigins [PSP]. I know most fans are fearing the worst since it's being handled by an American developer, but if it turns out to actually be good, I'd by a PSP just to play it. :)
