While killing time before karaoke Saturday night I decided to give Dance Dance Revolution a go, for basically the first time ever. I say basically because I vaguely recall having played it before, but the memory is faint enough that I was either drunk or really tired at the time. Anyways, I dropped a few coins on it and managed not to totally embarrass myself, barring the time I accidentally set the hardest song the machine had to max difficulty and then being unable to figure out how to change it back before being forced to do that one; that was a short attempt. Fortunately the arcade was fairly deserted, possibly due to the economic downturn, or the fact that I was playing at a normal person's dinner time, so no mockery ensued, but if it had I could've responded with my patented Terrorist Stare (like the Care Bear one, if it was done by a scary foreigner with sinister 'stache).
Karaoke was also cool, as more people were able to come out than usual, and as usual Alex put the krazy in karaokezy (the last two letters are silent fyi) with his singing, dancing, and occasional obscene cavortations, to the great entertainment of all present. I sang a Japanese song semi-successfully for the first time, although the fact that I practised it beforehand probably had something to do with it, just a little. Next target: Shangrila, by the undescribable Denki Groove.
